Fragmentary Blue
A series of abstract images of the patterns on the cracked and rusting paint of a burned out van I pass on some of my daily walks. The abandoned van is on waste land behind a disused colliery and is surrounded by broken glass and other debris - at first sight, it is a hideous eyesore but once I got up close, the beauty of the patterns left by the fire and passing time proved irresistible. I have called this collection "Fragmentary Blue" after the poem by Robert Frost (although he was writing about something completely different)

This has opened up a whole new world of creative possibilities for me - printing my images and putting them together into a small book is just so satisfying, both to look at and to hold. So much better than leaving images on my computer to be forgotten about...
