Burano Abstracts
The lockdown period in 2020 gave me chance to play with a few old images that I hadn't processed before - these images originate from a visit to Burano (a small island in the Venetian lagoon) a few years ago.
Burano is famed for it's brightly coloured houses. The island is easily reached by catching a vaporetto (boat) from Venice and has a very different feel to Venice itself - there is a sense that people still live and work here (although it is undeniably popular with tourists too, especially in summer)
The houses painted in their bright primary colours produce colourful reflections in the canal waters and on a clear day when there is just enough breeze to ripple the water slightly, amazing abstract patterns of colourful lines and shapes can be seen. The images below are multiple exposure images of some of these reflections.
